FSU fraternities are using computers and the Internet to make money for their favorite charities in addition to make money for scholarships and extra money for outings for the fraternity brothers. Many of the FSU fraternity brothers are majoring in communications, computer technology and business administration which allow them to help other students navigate their way around the ever-changing technology computers have to offer.
Many of FSU’s best fraternity brothers are somewhat intimidated by the Internet and computer technology even in today’s computer age. Those students who are majoring in computer technology are often more than willing to help their fellow brothers when it comes to mastering the Internet and everything a computer can help them with, especially writing papers or organizing schedules.
By utilizing the Internet and online auctions, the best fraternity at Florida State can come up with extra money for their favorite charities, scholarship money to help those less fortunate attend FSU and pay fraternity dues in addition to organizing and paying for special FSU fraternity outings which are great opportunities for the brotherhood to bond.
The young men get a sense of pride in a job well done knowing that they have used computer technology for something positive, like setting up scholarships or using the money raised from an online auction for their favorite charities. In addition to teaching them the value of giving, they are learning about new computer technology and how they can use it to better the world around them.
