A fly fishing north Georgia company could use a computer or an Internet web-based program in order to reach thousands of more potential customers to their website and then ultimately to their real-world brick-and-mortar location.

By using several Internet marketing techniques, a fly fishing company could bring their website to the top ranks of the major search engines – Google, Yahoo!, and MSN in order to receive more targeted customers to their website.  Targeted customers are customers who are looking for a fly fishing adventure.  By having a high ranking on the major search engines, a fly fishing company will be ranked ahead of the competition on the search engine pages where more consumers turn to for what they need or want than any other media including the phone book.  Having the major search engines use their “feelers” to go out and hunt for keywords or keyword phrases in combination with a website in order to rank them on their search engine webpages is done with keyword rich articles placed on a website.  This is called search engine optimization, and the website ranking on the major search engines is a free and automatic service for all websites.

Another way to use the Internet is with the same keyword rich articles from the search engine optimization as a fly fishing blog entry.  The article may need to be rewritten and somewhat pared down in order to fit the parameters of a blog, which are usually shorter and more conversational tone.  A blog entry about fly fishing could go on a themed blog about travel or something more specific like a spotted trout fly fishing blog.

An article exchange with other websites can utilize the Internet’s power to reach a variety of people.  A fly fishing company could write an article about unusual things someone should bring with them on a fishing trip, such as tanning lotion, and then participate in an article exchange with a suntan lotion website.  The suntan lotion company would write an article about the effects of being out in the sun while fishing and place it on a fly fishing company’s website in exchange for a fly fishing article on their website.  This is a no-cost way to market and promote both the tanning lotion products and the fly fishing services.

In addition to using the Internet for marketing purposes, advancements in computer technology could help a fly fishing company’s website attract more potential customers with a computer program that acts as a teaching tool for fly fishing.  Similar to playing golf online, a fly fishing interactive website program would help people with the fundamentals of fly fishing before they ever stepped foot in the water.

You are right, there are many ways to utilize the way and take advantage of different areas of a specific company or product. More and more fishers are turning to the web to learn about techniques and fishing spots.
