Snowboarding, up until about a decade or so ago, seemed to be a more male-dominated sport mainly because people felt women could not handle the pain, difficulty in learning the skill set for the sport and the pressures that go along with such an adventurous sport. And then there is the aggressiveness needed to handle themselves against the competition, but in the past several years, women have been proving themselves on the slopes, the halfpipes and in the parks as great snowboarders to win gold medals and championships.
