Tampa countertopsMany kitchen or bathroom designers fancy themselves as artists when it comes to creating unique and interesting plans for their clients, especially now when everyone’s budget is smaller than a few years ago.

Within a kitchen plan, a designer may have the limestone floors; Tampa countertops made of granite and a ceramic backsplash all working together to create a subtle intricacy such that the design seems simple at first and then unfolds to reveal a diversity of textures and patterns.

Most kitchens are designed in such a way that they each have a place to rest from each potential viewpoint to the next.

A homeowner needs to decide on a ‘theme’ for their kitchen and/or bath before a designer can put to paper what the client ‘sees’ in their minds eye.  For example, Italian kitchens are extremely popular at the moment, something reminiscent of Tuscany with vines and open spaces, open cabinets and lots of blues, tans, violets and various red tones as the color pallet.

Homeowners need to decide what type of flooring and countertops they want before a designer can give them a good drawing of their newly remodeled kitchen or bath. Granite Tampa flooring has its advantages and disadvantages.  Granite may be thermal or flame cut, honed, or polished to a high gloss.  The surface textures of granite will have a significant impact on the hard floor maintenance program development.  The rough flame or thermal cut textures will have low areas in which the dirt may accumulate making it difficult to get dirt free. A honed finish will have a dull, matte look and although it has a smooth appearance, it is still somewhat porous and will collect soil in the low areas.  A polished finish is very smooth and does well repelling dirt because there are no low areas in which to collect dirt, but will really show traffic patterns and all imperfections including poor mopping proficiency.

Countertops made from granite will have the same trouble with groves in which dirt can pile up if not wiped clean daily or if a smooth, honed finish is not chosen.
